As we end this Academic year 2025-2026 today we salute the #climatechampions of St. Paul’s College, Raheny who added Scots Pine and other native species to the perimeter of their school grounds. This project was part-sponsored by Raheny Rotary Club – many thanks to all in the club – marking the planting of 75 trees to celebrate 75 years of this wonderful school. The shelter belt is adjacent to St. Anne’s Park where many Scots Pines and evergreen Oaks were lost or damaged in recent storms. This initiative is a great start in restoring the canopy here which will also benefit all those using the park for recreation and of course the many species who rely on it as a habitat.
A special thanks to Raheny Rotary for their support in this project!
