This was our update back in November 2022…

Thanks to all our tree planters and supporters! NEWS November 2022; If we didn’t get to you this year yet, it’s because we are lining up planting for the 2022-2023 season, prioritising our waiting list from last season. (Once again we had a large waiting list of communities wishing to plant. ) We are a project based within the structure of a registered charity almost entirely operating on a volunteer basis so we are doing our best to allocate our resources to most effect.

We’ve finalized distribution of our tree allocations for the bare root season (which ends just after National Tree Week each March)2022 from our main sponsors back in the spring. We like to deliver what we promise. As soon as we know how many we have and what species for next winter we will send out offers; we are now taking details for our upcoming 2022-2023 planting season at orla@easytreesie.com! Please send us your name, address and phone number (or that of your parent or teacher if you are under 18) if you would like to plant 100-300 trees with your community in the lead up to Tree Week in March 2023! We will get back to you asap with our order form; we prioritise groups who have sent us all the information above. We had some delays with cranking up our corporate volunteer planting this season as the councils have been very much affected by COVID-19 staffing issues, if we didn’t manage to bring you out this season we started our Tree Maintenance sessions during Biodiversity Week, May 2022 and these will be ongoing throughout the year as the need arises. You will understand that our priority is to get children planting and we are of course delighted with the support of corporate and other volunteers from time to time. Adult volunteers coming out with us are there to support the children’s project and children planting – e.g. they can enjoy a bit of help digging the holes for example when they are small children. If you are in a hurry to plant big quantities or specific species next season we suggest you find a spot and order some from your local nursery yourself to suit your site and #stoptalkingstartplanting!

We get lots of one-liner queries; it really helps if we have the information listed above. Why do we get back to you surely but slowly? Our priority is planting and tending to our trees, our team is field-based.

The reason is we often have projects up and running in certain areas and we strive to avoid duplication so it is usually easier for us to connect you with an existing local project than start afresh.
