The inspiration came from the challenge by Felix Finkbeiner for children to plant a million trees in every country in the world. Felix is founder of Plant-for-the-Planet and Easy Treesie has run 4 of its Tree Academies and a TEDx conference, TEDxCrannTreesforIreland. It runs regular planting parties and carries out distribution of trees to community groups and schools as well as to co-operative endeavours. It has worked to make resources such as films “The Irish Tree Trail” and a podcast, “The Easy Treesie Story” launched in December 2022 by Tree Council of Ireland president, Dr. Éanna Ni Lamhna.
