On World Forestry Day, Saturday 21st March, Orla will be wearing her green dressing gown aka cape at home, planting a tree in a pot (guess what?) in her Tree House (aka dining room), reading out some never-yet published poe-TREE by children from that great literary capital, Listowel, County Kerry; from the banks of the Blackwater in Fermoy, Co. Cork and from under the shadow of Knocknarea, Sligo – Yeats country, written during Easy Treesie – Crann, Trees for Ireland workshops earlier this year. Have a pencil and the back of an envelope or business card and we will all write a poem about trees. And have a general chat about lovely trees and how our project planted nearly 100,000 of them in Ireland with Irish school children and their communities. Here are the details; – you will need to download Zoom on your phone! It is free.
Orla Farrell is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Here is one I wrote, what do you think?
Sense and Sensibili-TREE
If we loved our children we would let them run to school and in the playgrounds among the trees.
If they fell when they’re chasing we would bandage up their knees.
Not put them on ipads watching Dora in a car,
Strapped down firmly, Don’t you think it’s bizarre?
