150 thousand sapling planting concludes countrywide with 500,000th sapling planted marking National Tree Week

This season’s highlight has been the planting of the 500,000th sapling of the Easy Treesie – Crann project with our own teams and schoolchildren, teachers and staff from Kilternan Church of Ireland National School with their parish and wider community, joined by distinguished guests including EU Commissioner Mairead McGuinness, Ambassadors and members of the EU Commission.

Planting concludes of 150 thousand saplings around the country on Earth Day, April 22 2024 with a re-visit by Easy Treesie to Apple volunteers at Holyhill, Cork who planted 100 trees with us at their Munster campus, in collaboration with the Tree Council of Ireland.

We are especially grateful to our partners in the Tree Council of Ireland and GAA this season in our restoration project as part of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030, inspired by the Plant-for-the-Planet World Trillion Tree campaign to bring down global temperature by 1 degree C to buy 17 years’ time to implement lasting decarbonising solutions.

We are very grateful to our many supporters, especially our young tree planters and their communities. We’d like to particularly acknowledge the support of Coillte and their tree-mendous team at their nurseries. We acknowledge the support of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and that of our many tree planting children and their communities and our many supporters. An updated list of donors to our registered charity project will appear in the coming weeks on http://www.easytreesie.com .
